Evita Cobo was raised in Elberton, Georgia but has made New England her home for the last 17 years. She began her vocal training at Bennington College with tenor Frank Baker, and studied vocal and performance technique with Bill Reed of Singers On Stage in NYC. Her training has continued with Jazz singers Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, Rhiannon, Rebecca Paris, and multi-instrumentalist Bruce Williamson.
Evita was the featured soloist with The Sage City Symphony of Vermont for their 20th Anniversary Celebration of Voyage, by Louis Calabro in 1993. She made her New York debut in the Spring of 1995 in a SRO solo show at Danny's Skylight Cabaret Room. Performances include numerous supper club and jazz shows throughout New England, including The Harvard Club in Boston, The Century Club & Central Park in NYC.
