Drummer Frank Russo, raised in a N.Y.C. jazz family, has completed a distinguished career with the Navy Band where he performed in and led several dynamic ensembles. He is currently a busy freelance musician in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area and has a full schedule as a drum instructor/clinician. He is currently a member of the Fred Hughes Trio that has recently completed touring Asia. Frank has devoted extensive time to recording in the studio in a variety of musical settings as evidenced by his previous recordings released as leader, "All the Way" and "Snapshot". Most recently his creative drumming can be heard on Fred Hughes's Summit Records release "No Turning Back" and Frank's own trio recording "Quiet Now". He also is co-leader with saxophonist Pete BarenBregge for a brand new Summit recording "PF FLYER" and on upcoming releases from pianist Doug Bickel and guitarist Tom Lagana. "This cooks from the outset, driven along relentlessly by Frank's sizzling ride cymbal and the fleet fingers of Tommy Cecil. The Pete BarenBregge-Frank Russo Quartet, the sum of whose parts adds up, not only to wide experience outside of its home base, the D.C. area, but to a collective world-class artistry..." W. Royal Stokes, Ph. D.

"Fine jazz, Latin and ballads. The essence is music with a unique voice." Summit Records

"Pete BarenBregge is a mature, compelling jazz saxophonist with his own distinctive voice. He also has the wisdom to associate with rhythm-section players who support and challenge him. Give a listen." Bill Kirchner

Quiet Now, recorded Nov 2000, is Frank's only trio recording. Featured with Frank are brilliant pianist John Toomey and bassist Peter Revell performing exciting arrangements of Gershwin & Berlin to Thad Jones & Tom Harrell. Toomey also contributes two of his original compositions. The title cut "Quiet Now" is a favorite of jazz pianists because of the challenging harmonies and reflects the spacious landscape of trio performance.
